Barb Brown hooked up with Steve Bastien at the Lyrics coffee house in Schaumburg Illinois, about when the "Celestine Prophecy" came out. It started a lot of people talking. They sang all the old folk songs .When Barb moved to Florida she hooked up with Don Fass and they started Shout. That became her home for ten years. They played all over Tampa Bay. Though the name has changed the music has only gotten better!
Rich Monterose joined Shout later immediately feeling at home with his hamonies and guitar playing, but he left the band and went on his own.
After a year's hiatus, Rich, Ron and Barb decided they wanted to form a new band and they began the search for a drummer. They wanted to do the music they loved, and they wanted to bring the sound of CastleRock to Tampa.
Larry Mock from Spring Hill, Has been playing this area for years.
He brings his experience and great sense of humor to CastleRock.
and I am sure he will give me lot more to enter here!
but for now.....
Welcome Larry
Ron Brown has been playing in the Tampa area since he was a teenager at Chamberlain High School. He learned early on that it was a great way to get girls! He spent a lot of time playing the circuit in Tampa, and after a long hiatus he got back into playing again. It is hard to get the thrill of music out of your blood.
He is adept at the Bass as well as guitar, and works a mean computer too!
